We all descend from this lovely couple! Does anyone have bios or history on Robert's meat market in Scotland?
What are your memories of these two?
I remember that EVERY card we ever received from Grandma K included the great verse ... "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he will make your paths straight." -Proverbs 3:5-6
I thought this could be a fun way to keep traditions alive and make new ones. A family Facebook of sorts.
Please feel free to send me updates below, email or text. Photos, recipes, family updates, prayer requests, etc. Check back often for updates and events! I'm happy to add sections or pages for whatever... this is just a start ;)
XO,
Laura
Older & wiser, I recognize what an AMAZING Godly family legacy we have. When I listen to Elevation Worship's "The Blessing", I think of our family and this is my prayer for YOU.
The Lord bless you and keep you
Make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you
The Lord turn His face toward you
And give you peace
(Numbers 6:24-26)
May His favor be upon you
And a thousand generations
And your family and your children
And their children, and their children

FAMILY CORN ROAST
Saturday, August 29th at Greenwood Hills
More info to come!

Family gathered at University of Maryland for the lax game vs the Princeton Tigers (Feb 2026). Needless to say, the crowd had mixed loyalties with alumni in the family section but everyone was cheering on Ellie Nicklas!
Especially impressed with Hudson & Paula's tailgating spirits!

Joyce has been dealing with an emulsion fracture since Thanksgiving. And little Chase was diagnosed with AVL tear and kidney stones. Keep these two in your prayers!

After the Easter festivities, that night Ruth learned that her brother Mike had passed. She then had a bad fall and broke her wrist. Surgery was the next night & AJ was at her bedside! Ruth is now recovering at Menno Haven Rehab and loves visitors! Pictured here with sister DeeDeee.

Kyle's wife, Morgan, is having a rough bout with some health issues. They have a really busy family life with Kyle teaching & coaching lacrosse, kiddos & more. Please keep them in your prayers!
Thanks to Aunt Joyce "AJ" and all the family members who generously added to the gift basket, hand delivered to Kyle & Morgan. They are really appreciative of the outpouring of love & support!!

Praying for summer fun, traveling and journey mercies over all of our loved ones!
Send us prayer requests!

Just a few photos from Easter festivities at Greenwood Hills and Locked Antlers.

Dr. James William Shira, “Jim”, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Friday July 18, 2025 at the Chambersburg Hospital. At age 92, he was days away from his 93rd birthday on July 24, 2025. His gentle, loving spirit and kind soul will be greatly missed by many.
We had a beautiful graveside service for Jim followed by a family picnic at the home of John "Fudge" and Kristin Nicklas. Ruth Kirkpatrick also celebrated her 80th birthday with her children, Anne & Andrew, and their families.

Here's a collection of really awesome family photos from the archives. If you are an iPhone user, you can add your family images to the collection. Just message Laura to be added to the shared album and add from there.

There's a small group working on the historical Locked Antlers, an old hunting camp in the Michaux / Caledonia State Forest. Reggie was a part of the hunting club and inherited the property as the "last man standing". He eventually sold it to DCNR after his retirement was lost following the sale of P. Nicklas Sons Furniture and eventual bankruptcy of its predecessor.
Thanks to Aunt Paula for the photos!
